Gaylord Hotel?

It's not a Con, it's a Festival! Except when it's a Stock! Or a Gen!

  • So I'm reading about this Hotel, there's people talking about camping outside it, bringing consoles, and Jontron made a video saying he'd be there. Is there just one big room with all this going on at once? Obviously, this will be my first time going to MAGfest, so I just want to clear up the confusion now. Thanks!

  • Like, camping outside, on the grass, in tents? Sounds awful, I haven't seen such shenanigans and I doubt it would be tolerated by hotel staff.

There are giant hallways in the hotel, huge expo halls, large concert rooms, and several large and small panel rooms. I've seen people playing games in the hallways, repairing game boys, etc. Some people may be bringing consoles for use in their rooms or whatever, not sure about that. I think there are tables in an atrium area for random stuff as well.

This map should help you out.

Oh I see now, I was under the impression the Gaylord Hotel was just a hotel, and that magfest had it's own dedicated building

  • That is if you had enough money to afford the expensive hotel food the entire weekend.

  • Also, because someone has to say it, don't be the asshole who goes up to a high floor and sleeps in the hallway. You give the rest of the attendees a bad name and it pisses off the hotel staff.

+1! I always sleep right in the lobby, the chairs are comfy.

I'm pretty sure the gaylord would kick you off their property in like 2 seconds if you set up a tent lol.

Thats why you go grocery shopping before magfest starts and have cheaper food to eat the whole weekend and you dont have to leave.

This is easier if you live in the DC area already like me :) Supposedly some more stuff has opened in National Harbor including cheaper food options. Ever since Maryland passed the act to allow casinos, now businesses are investing in National Harbor because a casino is being planned to be built. Honestly National Harbor always felt like a gambling area anyway.
